The Brief

Pax is a premium vaporizer product, often called the ‘Apple’ of vape pens. Their product wasn’t the problem, though. Their app experience on iOS and Android was hard to use, off-brand, and not at the high standards of the company as a whole.

The team came to Wolf&Whale to rethink the art direction of the apps to match the new branding of the company, while also thinking about user experience enhancements to improve engagement, tracking of device usage, and introducing new paths to e-commerce within the app.

What we did?

Based on core design principles, we created an art direction and revamped design system from scratch to provide a premium, user-friendly design to their app. We designed additional features like an on-boarding flow, vaporizer usage module, and fun social games to help users connect and track their usage of the physical device.

The result.

The result led to a highly engaging app and thousands of five-star reviews from users, mentioning the sleek design, intuitive user experience, and new modules to help them connect and track usage of their vape. The Verge mentioned how the app helped them track usage and make sure they don’t over-use the product.
